gpg stable uses keys with "A" purpose for encryption
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Release: stable

Description

gpg uses keys marked with a purpose of "A" (authentication) for encryption. As I use a smartcard, it is not possible for me to decrypt such messages.

How To Repeat

encrypt a message to a key that is stored on a smartcard, for example mine (1024D/5706A4B4). The message should be encrypted using the key 1024R/D7A2055F, but is encrypted with 1024R/EAF3A880.

Fix

Ignore subkeys that have non-encryption purposes for encryption
