A fresh install of GnuPG 1.4.1 with the Windows installer creates a gnupg.conf with 3 lines

How To Repeat

Install ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/gnupg-w32cli-1.4.1.exe and take a look at the gnupg.conf

Fix

Undo whatever changed the original lines

  1. uncomment .*

    to

    comment ""

The installer does not create a gpg.conf file. What you see is most likely a
result of WinPT editing this file.

Most likely a winpt bug, but there have been several releases of WinPT in the
meantime.
