Draft: Kleopatra: Add column "Key" to make the information "secret key available" better accessible
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Currently the information if a secret key is available for a certificate is available via:

  • the font, which is by default bold for secret keys
  • the certificate details (line "Secret key" and column "Storage")
  • using the filter "My own"

To make this better recoverable in the general certificate list for visually impaired people, a column "Key" with the values "secret" or "public" could be used.
The column should be hidden by default and positioned between mail and status.

We discussed this and decided that this would not be useful, as

  • "normal" users have mostly only one (and maybe additionally a shared) key, and they know their own names and then check the details of that key.
  • they can use the "my own" filter
  • An additional column which is hidden would be no improvement for screen-reader users (who would have to configure this before it is displayed, which most probably won't do). And such a column shown by default would clutter up the default view for all other users.

So we aim for special help documents for people with special needs to make the first 2 options easier to discover.
