The buttons are painted completely different in the two versions. In VSD 3.3.7 the colored buttons are painted with a 3D style (which is inherited from the legacy "windows" style) while non-colored buttons are painted with a flat style (where the background is painted with the Windows API ignoring any custom colors). In VSD 3.4 all buttons are painted with a flat style.
