Lessons from the Granny Game: Risk Management and Information Security

Hello everyone,

Recently, I tried the survival horror game Granny Game. The interesting thing about this game is that you are “locked” in a house and have to find a way to escape using clever strategies while avoiding any mistakes that can lead to detection.

That experience reminds me of the field of security and risk management:

In games, just a small noise can make you fail → in security, just a small hole can lead to data loss.

Players need to observe and calculate every step → just like programmers/administrators have to be careful in every configuration and security decision.

The ultimate goal is not just “winning” but surviving in an environment full of risks → similar to maintaining a safe system against cyber threats.

I would like to open up the discussion:

Do you think using examples from games (like Granny) can help in security awareness and training?

Are there any frameworks or methods you find similar to this game's “survival” method?

We would love to hear from the community!
