I'm not sure I like the coming and going of the status bar.

I do also think the 'not cleared' message has value. We are in a place where clearing of the clipboard is expected, so I think it is fine to notify the user it didn't happen (most likely because they copied something else in that brief moment)

I do think a welcome widget is fine though.
