gpgsm hangs with KMail

Description

In combination with gpgme 1.4.0/1.4.1 KMail hangs at certain crypto-operations
until the gpgsm background process is killed. Please see the following tickets
for a detailed description:

It has been suggested to report this here but apparently no one did that just
yet. I am afraid it is difficult for me to provide more detailed information,
but as a user this is very annoying for me and I would like to help if possible.
I would appreciate if you could try to investigate given the provided
information in the referred reports, otherwise please describe how we can
proceed identifying the issue.

Please see T1493 - it is very likely the same reasons. I am not abale to
replicate it, though. The workaround is to configure gpgme with
--disable-fd-passing

Should be fixed with the current stable GnuPG and GPGME versions.
