Release: 1.2.2
Environment
IBM PC 365, RH 8.0, kernel 2.4.20-18.8smp,
Description
Compile failed. (It is possible that this is a user problem...I'm new to Linux. I am following the install instructions to the letter. The only other thing I can tell you is that gcc was not installed initially. When I attempted to install the RPM package, it complained about not finding glibc x.x.x. glibc was already installed, however, it was at a newer version that gcc indicated it was looking for. I installed gcc with the nodep option to skip the dependency check.) I have attached the config.log file that will hopefully assist you in providing me with guidance.
Thank you,
Darryl Wilburn
Fix
This looks like an installtion problem:
gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `as': No such file or directory
Did you install binutils?
