GpgOL: Should be possible to leave S/MIME to Outlook
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In Gpg4win 2.3.0 read support for MIME messages was enabled
for Outlook 2010 and higher.

This is good for OpenPGP, but it causes a problem for people using
the Outlook internal S/MIME support.

Thus it should be a configuration option.

For Gpg4win 3-testversion this is already implemented,
the default being GnuPG S/MIME support **off*.
Rationale: users already using S/MIME with Outlook-intern are not disturbed on
installation and users that set out to freshly use S/MIME (with GnuPG) can
enable the support explicitly.

So we need release planning or backporting or something to fix this issue for
stable gpg4win.

Event Timeline

GpgOL-1.4 which we will include in 2.3.1 will have an option dialog where you
can enable and disable S/MIME. Default in 1.4 is off.

-> Testing until 2.3.1 is released.

aheinecke removed a project: Restricted Project.

With 2.3.2 we've fixed another bug that sent mails were still handled by gpgol
even when s/mime was disabled.

So far I know of no other problems -> Resolved.
