gnupg 1.2.4 fails with kmail where 1.2.2 works

Environment

x686, debian 3.0r0, kde 3.1

Description

kmails built-in gpg worked until installation of gnupg 1.2.4. then it kept on saying that i didn't enter the right pasphrase without ever opening the pinentry-window that asks me for the passphrase. after downgrading to 1.2.2 everything works again.

How To Repeat

problem can be reproduced by installing gnupg 1.2.4 and can be resolved by installing 1.2.2

Please don't downgrade gpg as 1.2.4 has a security fix.

We need a more detailed bug report. It seems to be a Kmail
problem anyway thus I'd like you to post a report to the
kmail list.
