It would be nice if it were possible to use a smartcard directly, without going through the secret keyring for key selection, as it requires me to have a "pseudo" secret key present on the system I wish to use it on.

It would be nice to have --card-sign and --card-decrypt functions that would query the card for the appropriate key and simply use it, and a function --card-get-secret-stub to generate a stub key that can be imported into the secring.
