passphrase dialogue: "mismatch" message not deleted during next try
Open, LowPublic

Description

When creating a new key a passphrase dialogue is shown.
The edit fields are too short and a "show passphrase" option does not exist, so it's quite probable to fail
when retyping the passphrase and a mismatch message is displayed.

This message is still being shown when you clear both fields and fill them correctly/identically.

Can you please provide the version of the tool "pinentry"

(On the command line: pinentry --version )

There are several flavors of pinentry written for different GUI toolkits. Recent Versions of both pinentry-gtk2 and pinentry-qt allow showing the passphrase.

I set prio to low for now because there are alternative pinentries which do parts of what you request.

Installed pinentry version is:

pinentry-gnome3 (pinentry) 0.9.7
Copyright (C) 2015 g10 Code GmbH

More exactly, from Synaptic package manager is 0.9.7.3.
