Hi, thanks for the report.
the problem is likely a slow CRL server (like cacert) which blocks the signature verification. You can use Kleopatra -> Settings -> Configure Kleopatra -> S/MIME validation -> "Never consult a CRL" to disable it.
We have it on our todo to improve this. E.g. we should already show the contents of the mail if a signature verification takes long. The issue for this is T4118
