I can't tell what this means:

--no-keyring
       Do not add use any keyrings even if specified as options.

does "add use" just mean "use"? is it about options that come before this argument? or after? just above it, the documentation says "note that GnuPG will not operate without any keyrings" and yet, it does operate if --no-keyring is supplied.

clarification would be great!
