ambiguous error message when output file exists already
Open, LowPublic

Description

Hey.

When e.g. symmetrically encrypting a file and the --output file exists already, gpg gives an error message of:

gpg: symmetric encryption of 'INPUT-file' failed: File exists

That's IMO a bit misleading, of course INPUT-file exists already. It would perhaps be better if it says something like Specified output file exists already.

Cheers,
Chris.

That is not easy to change because we show all kind of error codes. If you run in --verbose mode you should see more info.

Sure... it's really more of a cosmetic issue. Even without verbose mode, it should become quickly clear to anyone.
