I would like to have the user experience that you double click an encrypted mail and immediately see the contents.

So I think we should skip the result view step by defaut and make it configurable like the current automatic behavior to immediately start working based on input detection.

So a configure option "Automatically view decrypted / verified" mails. Default on. If that option is off then it should use the current behavior with the button.
