Kmail: attachment issues on signed/encrypted mails

Description

KMail does not always show attachments of as signed and encrypted mail.
I prefer "show only in headers".

But in some mails attachments are not shown in the header.

Here is what I see in KMail (with attachments "in headers only" and with expert plugin) and in Akonadi Console:


When I enable "Show attachments as Icons", those are displayed "at the bottom" in this mail.

But not in the following example in HTML:

But none of the settings there makes any difference.

With KMail 5.23.1 the attachment icon is shown as icon. It's also show in the header (I don't see a way to disable this).

Please retest bugs with the latest stable release before submitting bug reports. For example, with the Flatpak published at https://flathub.org/apps/org.kde.kontact.

I encouraged Eva to create this ticket. While the specific case described here might be fixed in current master, the attachment handling still has issues.

For example:

  1. encrypted attachments of encrypted email do not appear in the header after decryption (can reproduce on master)
  2. decrypting an email with encrypted attachemnts, forwarded as an attachment shows the attachment in the header after decryption
