Although most of us are used to use the terminal's scroll back feature, this is sometimes not possible and a paginate prompt would be helpful. Of course this needs to be an option because for sure there are scripts using canned command sequences (which they actually should not do).

Implementing this feature might also be used for slight rework of the internal tty handling code.
