Ambiguous translation strings
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'm translating GPA to Arabic (for NGO-in-a-box project), I found some ambiguous
strings.

#: src/clipboard.c:372
#, c-format
msgid "The file %s is %li%s large. Do you really want to open it?"
msgstr ""

It is not clear what the "%li%s" parameters are used for, a translaor comment is
appreciated.

Also the */sep0 strings aren't clear, what does "sep" mean, is it short of
"seperator"? should it be translated or not (I see it not translated in other
languages), a translator comment would be appreciated too.

Keep up the nice work.

khaled added a subscriber: khaled.
werner added a subscriber: werner.

An example:

The file foo.txt is 750MB large"

The second parameter is the size and the third one then unit. Right, a
translation note should be added.

I added a comment for the unit. Thanks.

For the separator, that is really standard stuff for Gtk/Gnome applications, and
it doesn't matter if it is translated or not.

Thanks,
Marcus
