German translation update
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Attached an update for the German translation of GnuPG 2 (diff against current
SVN) - fixing some typos and fuzzy translations (a few untranslated entries are
left).

Seems I sent parts of this patch to the mailing list some time ago, but they
have not yet been applied.

Event Timeline

And here a fix for the stable version.

You should coordinate with the designated translator before changing the syle of
the translation. I have not checked whether you have filed the required
copyright disclaimer with the FSF.

#: g10/gpg.c:1640
msgid "show all notations during signature listings"
-msgstr "Alle Notationen mit den Signaturen anlisten"
+msgstr "Alle Notationen mit den Signaturen auflisten"

"anlisten" is the correct German term when used in an IT context.

I noticed the word and I tried to check this carefully. I found no reference for
a word "anlisten" (Duden, Canoo, dict.leo.org ... even $search-engine only
listed a few references). Seems this is a word creation and therefor I changed it.

I thought, that all other translations (fixes) were safe and therefore did not
contact the translator. I should do this next time.

About the copyright disclaimer - these are trivial changes, which are not
protected by a copyright (at least in Germany, but IANAL). I remember that I
read something about the disclaimer on your page, but I cannot find it atm.
Please point me to it if you think, it is required.

I have fixed and updated the translation myself.

Thank you fvery much or pointing problems and for your efforts to create a new
po file.

The disclaimer needs to be filed with the FSF and the FSF sends the actual
templates. I can initiate this but it will take a few weeks. Please let me
know by private mail (wk@gnupg.org), if you want to help with translations.

Found 3 typos after the update. Can you accept them without the disclaimer? Diff
attached.

Well, I'm part of the Debian packaging of gnupg (1.4) and I speak German. This
is why I sent you these patches. I'm not part of a translation team.
