gpgol - Message sign fails under Outlook 2007 and GPGol 1.9.12
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I am not able to sign messages - Kleopatra reports having successfully signed
the message. But it looks like the signature is not complete (missing letters at
th biginning of the signature). I noticed that when reading the sent message
externally. The email stored in "Sent Items" (in my Outlook 2007) is not
readable anymore - Looks like Kleopatra hangs up.

Hmmm, there is no GpgOL 1.1.12. Do you mean Gpg4win 1.9.12-beta?

PStiefel changed Version from 1.1.12beta to 1.9.12beta.Nov 25 2008, 6:33 PM

You're so right. Please excuse my little mistake - I meant 1.9.12-beta. It was
too early in the morning when i wrote this message ;-).

PStiefel renamed this task from gpgol - Message sign fails under Outlook 2007 and GPGol 1.1.12 to gpgol - Message sign fails under Outlook 2007 and GPGol 1.9.12.Nov 25 2008, 6:33 PM

Please tell a bit more what you did: S/MIME or OpenPGP, long or short message,
with attachments, encrypted or signd+encrypted, plain 7 bit ascii or with
umlauts etc., IMAP, POP3 or Echange?

werner lowered the priority of this task from High to Normal.Nov 26 2008, 12:17 PM
werner removed Due Date.

Well, I used a simple text mail not using umlauts. I selected PGP/MIME.

Normally I would expect that my signed test email should looks like this:

This is a test mail.

With kind regards,
Patrick

In fact the signature with PGP/MIME is okay. I sent this mail to a colleague of
mine. He is using Thunderbird. In the Thunderbird client my mail AND my
signature looks fine. The delivery seems to be okay.

But when i look into my folder "sent items" the mail looks like this:

iEYEABECAAYFAkktQz0ACgkQfjQ6eO/2TjqNOACfVTvGb76iWr7JCIOTiqfewE1T

The hole text is missing and the signature is incomplete. Sometimes i can open
the sent mail, sometimes I get an error message. Outlook 2007 is getting instable.

It looks like the sent email is permanently destroyed, because an export to a
text file is the same as shown in Outlook.

Do you have an idea how to solve this bug?

No idea. Frankly OL2007 is not yet too well tested.

Are you using a local mailbox (PST), IMAP or an Excahnge server?

I am using a local mailbox, PST.

Perhaps anyone will be able to find the error - Perhaps I should help to correct
the method by looking into the code...
