The menu is not structured logically. Proposals:Please change the menu as follows:
* Move "Perform Self-Test" to the Tools menu. Position there at the top? Or position 2?
* At the top is currently "Show GnuPG Configuration" which should be renamed. Suggestion: "Open GnuPG command line". (As most other entries there start with a verb.) The first thing choosing that entry will currently automatically do is "Show GnuPG Configuration", but we might change that when we add additional commands and have it wait on a user choice before doing anything.
* Remove the "Window" menu. It is not about windows, it is about tabs//Perform Self-Test// from //Settings// to //Tools//. And the actions there are all better accessible in the context of the tabs themselves.
* There is no real logic behind the location of actions on /with certificates. Some are below "Files" and some below "Certificates". How can this be sorted in a comprehensible way? And without moving most actions to "Certificates",**ToDecide**: Position at the top? thereby making the menu item list too long?
Decided on 2025-05-22:
* Move //Configure Groups// from the //Settings// to //Tools//Or position 2 after "GnuPG command line"?
* Move //Details// from //View// to //Certificates//
* Move //Notepad// andConfigure Groups// from //Smartcardettings// to //Tools//
* Rem* Move //Stop operation// fromthe whole //View//. Possibly move it menu to Tools otherwise delete it completely.before //Settings//
* Move the whole //View// item to the right. Before or after //Settings//? Possibly unite it with //Window// which is about tabs, btw. and needs at least to be renamed)//Details// from //View// to //Certificates//
* Rename //Refresh S/MIME Certificates// to //Refresh all S/MIME Certificates//Move //Notepad// and //Smartcards// from //View// to //Tools//
* Rename "Show GnuPG Configuration" (in /Tools/) to "GnuPG command line". (The first thing choosing that entry will currently automatically do is "Show GnuPG Configuration", but we might change that when we add additional commands and have it wait on a user choice before doing anything.)
* Remove the "Window" menu. (It is not about windows, it is about tabs. And the actions there are all better accessible in the context of the tabs themselves.)
* Rename //Refresh OpenPGP Certificates// to //Refresh all OpenPGP Certificates//move //Stop operation// from //View//.
* Replace //Refresh S/MIME Certificates// and //Refresh OpenPGP Certificates// by //Refresh Certificates// -> **ToDo": create separate Ticket
