gpg: Note: '--list-options' is not considered an option
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I tried to have gpg show me a photo from a public key:

$ gpg -k --show-photos 821371DD4665CF4FAE2022060424DC19B678A1A9
gpg: WARNING: "--show-photos" is a deprecated option
gpg: please use "--list-options show-photos" instead
gpg: WARNING: "--show-photos" is a deprecated option
gpg: please use "--verify-options show-photos" instead

so then I tried:

$ gpg -k 821371DD4665CF4FAE2022060424DC19B678A1A9 --list-options show-photos

and got this warning:

gpg: Note: '--list-options' is not considered an option.

It sure seems like an option, and it even includes the word option in the name of the parameter.

Event Timeline

GnuPG is picky about the order of options. Please put "--list-options show-photos" before -k.

werner added a subscriber: werner.

Actually before the fingerprint, which is a general argument and not an argument to -k. Thus

gpg -k --list-options show-photos 821371DD4665CF4FAE2022060424DC19B678A1A9

would also work.
