Option to always permanently decrypt
Open, WishlistPublic

Description

Both Signature and Encryption are meant to ensure mail transfer, but in a safe environment normally not mail storage. I know, there are good reasons to deem no environment as safe, but as an option to the user I'd like to let mails be permanently decrypted automaticaly, if

  • they are marked as read
  • they have GPG/SMIME based trust

If there are good reasons against doing so, or as another option, if additionally

  • they are written by myself

The latter would remove the signature from all the mails in my Sent folder, which always leads to the paper clip appendix symbol. As a consequence I could directly see, which mail has an appendix.

@JJworx Thanks for the suggestion / feature request.

I think I would implement it the following way:

Checkbox "Permanently decrypt mails if they have at least <combobox to select trust level> trust."

Its actually simple to implement that because we have most of what we would need for that already in the code.

Uh, I just noticed that this issue is from dec. 2019 I am unsure why I overlooked this and only noticed it in my regular tracker check today.
