In Kleopatra under Crypto Operations there should be a setting to disable automatic extraction of archives.
Currently you can only disable the automatic operation completely but we have users that regularly work with encrypted archives and have a tar plugin in their windows. They would like to only have the tar file without extraction so that they can list and edit the tar file and re-encrypt it.

I think such an option makes sense, especially since Windows 10 has on board tar support at least on the command line and there are plugins which allow users to directly browse and edit tar files in the windows explorer.
