Kleopatra: Use Breeze style on Windows
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We should use KDE's Breeze style for our Windows builds in the future.

Advantages:

  • Kleopatra looks the same on all platforms.
  • The Breeze style is well supported for Windows because it's used for all Windows builds of apps published by KDE.
  • We don't have to chase bugs in Qt's Windows styles (like T7414).

Disadvantages:

  • We have to build and package the Breeze style.

We may do this for gpg4win-5 but not for the current versions.

ikloecker moved this task from Backlog to WIP on the gpd5x board.

We are using the style already since quite some time for gpg4win-5. I keep this ticket open for now for further adjustments (e.g. removal of workarounds added for other styles).

ikloecker moved this task from WIP to Done on the gpd5x board.

This is more a technical ticket. There's not really something to test. Setting to Resolved/Done as discussed with ebo.

Issues with the Breeze style (e.g. related to high contrast) are handled by other tickets, e.g. T7610: Kleopatra: Update custom colored UI elements when colors change and T7588: Kleopatra: Several problems with icons in high contrast modes.
