Case-sensitive to: field
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If I have a certificate for user@domain.de but my email system (exchange for
instance) saves the email address with capital letters in the beginning i.e.
User@domain.de lookup using gpgol fails. Have searched to see if this behavior
is
configurable but have not find anything.

rfc5321 seems to suggest that the user part of the email address should not be
seen
as case-sensitive so I'm wondering if that is a better default? If not is it
possible to configure?

"2.4. General Syntax Principles and Transaction Model" in:
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc5321.txt

states "However, exploiting the

case sensitivity of mailbox local-parts impedes interoperability and
   is discouraged."

Kind Regards,
Daniel

Are you sure that the case sensitivity was the problem here and not the general
Problem that Exchange Addresses were not looked up correctly?

It would be helpful if you could test this with gpgol 1.2.1 (part of
gpg4win-2.2.2-beta) if this is still an issue I'll look into it.

Hello,

Not sure but everything seems to be working in the 2.2.2-beta relase.

Thank you,
Daniel
