Kleopatra improved drop behavior
Testing, WishlistPublic

Description

Another wishlist item. Kleopatra has this stone old "Dragqueen" mechanism to handle dropping of files in Kleopatra.

I think this should be replaced if it could somehow go through the mechanism of "command for file" it would be best. E.g. if you simply drop any file into Kleo it will open the encryption dialog. If you drop a key it will import it. If you drop an encrypted file it will decrypt it and if you drop an encrypted mail it will open the mailviewer. At least that is how I imagine it.

We should sell this as AI or at least as "smart file drop". ;-)

Oh yeah! I was looking for a way to Integrate LLMs / GPT Models into our code. Let us change gpgme_data_indentify so that it queries an online service about what to do with such a file 😅 I guess that is how Microsoft would implement such a feature nowadays. Gathering training data in the help of humanity.

^ Just if anyone comes around and reads that, this is obviously a joke.

This ticket description does not give me anything to test.

I need a description of a case that was improved in this ticket. Or at least a list of things which should work and need testing.

Having said that, with Gpg4win 4.4 dragging a plain file, an encrypted file and 2 certificates onto the Kleopatra window all do what I expected. Even doing it all at once works, though it is a bit confusing, as several dialog windows open (as they should).

Is there something else which needs to be tested here?

The only difference that you should see in the UI is that there is no longer a menu that pops up when you drop files, asking you what to do with the files. So I guess, if things works fine as you described them, you can consider the ticket done

Ok, I'm not asked, therefore I set this to done, but not resolved yet, as I'm not sure if the gpg version might have an influence.
