Metazoa (Ingo Bläser) quote busy. Promised to send an offer with a brief concept "in March". I will ping him.

Sure, but lets use that ticket for this. if you have another topic, feel free to open another ticket.

Is a PR to add it to the website welcome? Not sure that I'll get around to it, but in case someone else is interested - I linked here from those stackoverflow pages.
Feb 5 2019
It is in the tarball:
doc/DETAILS
and for example Debian installs it as /usr/share/doc/gnupg/DETAILS.gz. Check out the first section "Format of the colon listings". Or use GPGME which provides C, C++, Python and JSON bindings. Sorry, it never made it to the website.
@werner where is this now documented? I can't find it.

I don't see it as a priority right now. We should keep it in mind for T3811 .
I do not think that we should prioritize this right now. I had a talk with Michael and he said that we basically have the trademark because we are currently using it. To really register it and enforce it we would have to hire patent lawyers and that will easily go into 6 figure sums. Which I don't think we need right now. Let's keep it as "GnuPG is in use as a Product of g10cde".
Jan 28 2019
During a meeting with Werner today agreed:
- All content under gnupg.org should be handled by Verein
- Metazoa should write an offer regarding gnupg.org
(- Markus Meier is working for gnupg._com_!)
Contact to Metazoa already running. Will update Ingo Bläser.

In another project in the early 2000ies we had a lawyer from one of those Königsallee lawfirsm as partner. IIRC the estimated cost for a word trademark in the EU, US, and JP was in the range of 10k for just a couple of years.

Just trying to find out who spoke about _which_ website _exactly_. Obviously, it wasn't just about GnuPG e.V.
Just talked to Michael Stehmann again. He added some useful thoughts. Unfortunately, he didn't agree to summarise them in 2-3 paragraphs. So I'll try...
Jan 7 2019
Please provide a summary of the talk.
My opinion:
Talked to Michael Stehmann. First questions to be decided before estimating the efforts:
At end of 2018 we had a talk with designer Markus Maier in the Düsseldorf Office.
The issue was handled as well.

All right. Please put a comment here when it is back.
Well yes. However I had an agreement with Brenno to link to his site. I'll ping him.
But you could host those pages instead of depending only on a site that does not work! Can't you?
In any case those old howtos need some rework.

I created a new task for that T3322. The verein doesn't have any ownership over the logo so this is still your decision as head of g10 code.
We can't close this bug because the main thing is to define a policy on how the GnuPG icons can be used. For example do we allow their use by proprietary software to indicate that they use GnuPG below the hood?
Done in a8d0b8d23.

There are no team encryption keys, that's the problem. So there is at least a dependency between the tasks, as we can't document what we don't have.
I don't see how this duplicates T3074. If the web form is going to encourage people to ask for the team's encryption keys, it should just provide the encryption keys directly.

I removed the man page and the link for now. Currently there doesn't seem to be an easy way to update it automatically.

Fixed the PUBLIC_ARCHIVE_URL setting in mm_cfg.py. I have no idea why the other archive links worked.

According to my checkout this is at
werner@trithemius.gnupg.org:/cvs/gph
But that has long gone. I need to see where to find a backup of that repo.

Assigning to Werner for "re 1."
@werner I can't find the gnu privacy handbook sources, although they are mentioned here: https://gnupg.org/documentation/guides.html

Ha, I need to use 2-23/3 to a run a job every 3 ours and not just 2/3.
Unfortunately the default cron logging does not log faulty log files. Changed that as well.

I translated index.de.org, donate.de.org, and checkout-cc.de.org. I don't see anything missing in procdonate.cgi.

I doubt that we will be able to do French. I have implemented the basic framework for de and ja, though. What we need is a switch language button in the menu and well the entire translation. The thing works like this:

Shall I look into this?

[I'm doing s@://@: / /@g so that roundup does not complain about this message
having too many links.]
So I did that. There are two problems:
1/ We advertise URLs of the form 'https: / /git.gnupg.org/foo.git', but this URL
contains only the name of the repository as the path. In boa, I need to specify
a non-empty path in the ScriptAlias directive for the path to CGIs, and then the
script itself also needs a non-empty name. Neither pound nor boa seem to have
path-rewriting functionality, so I don't see how we can serve a git repository
using the 'git-http-backend' CGI this way (w/o patching boa that is).
I decided to be pragmatic about it (at least for the moment) and go for URLs of
the form 'https: / /git.gnupg.org/g/it/foo.git', so I can use 'ScriptAlias /g
...', and use 'it' for the script name. However:
2/ Something is fishy with the TLS setup:
% git clone https: / /git.gnupg.org/g/it/ntbtls.git
Cloning into 'ntbtls'...
fatal: unable to access 'https: / /git.gnupg.org/g/it/ntbtls.git/': GnuTLS recv
error (-110): The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
