IRIC, Timo already fixed this problem. We need to do a new release, though.
Sep 7 2006
The bug has actually been fixed in a working copy but not propagated to the SVN
at the time I did the 1.0.6 release. We are currently looking whether we need
to do another gpgol and gpg4win release now.

Have uploaded the log as described.
Have uploaded the logfile actions as below:
GPGol has an extra debug options which helps to understand the internal
communication between Outlook and GPGol. To enable it, go to the GnuPG tab in
Outlook's option page, click on the "Advanced" button and enter

Hey there.
Meanwhile I got a debug log and forwarded it to Timo. However I'd like to see a
test with the latest gpg4win (0.9.90 released yesterday with gpg4win 1.0.6).
Aug 28 2006
Got it. I'll do it when I'm in the office tomorrow and send to you.

Using:
WinXP SP2
Outlook 2003SP2
GPG 1.4.5
GPGOL 0.9.10 (8/2/2006)
Installed from GPG4Win 1.0.5
Key Manager set to GPA (tried WinPT too)

This is the same problem as described in item 643 so
I close this item.
The Key Manager issue in gpgol should be solved. I was not
able to reproduce it with a recent gpgol (gpg4win installtion)
or with gpgol standalone with proper settings in the advanced diaqlog.

We currently work on a solution.
This is fixed in the current SVN code.
As Werner pointed out, there is no way to fix that when
Word is used as the editor. The only solution is _not_ to
use word as the editor and to use Outlook directly to
reply mails.
This is fixed in the current SVN code.

Just received another report by PM. It is also described at
http://ms-office-forum.net/forum/archive/index.php/t-90146.html although I don't
know whether they are talking about PGP or GnuPG.

We got some reports with similar problems but in general
this part should work with Outlook and SP2. Please could you
attach a log file so we can check if there was an internal problem during
decryption?
I tested it with the newest version and I could not reproduce the
problem.
Jul 31 2006
We need more information. In particular the version of gpgol used.
Jul 29 2006
Please make sure you have installed SP2.
And please try again with the newest gpgol release (gpg4win 1.0.4).
Actually the current window function is not related to the
plugin. IF the buttons are not visible in the Outlook "New Mail" window,
it is likely that an editor, maybe Word, is used.
In this case you won't see the GPGol buttons.
We got some reports about such problems but we were not able
to reproduce them.
This problem occurrs when for example Word is used as the editor.
There is no way to fix it, except NOT to use Word as the editor.
Please could you update to the latest gpgol version.
I suggest to use gpg4win 1.0.4 because it contains a newer gpgol version
and a newer WinPT (Key Manager) version.

Fixed in svn revsion 150 and probably already in 0.9.9
fixed in svn

I gave it a shot and spent half a day on it. No way, I can't update the preview window without updating the actual text of the message. Chaning all messages to "This is a PGP/MIME message" is probably not a good idea. Code is in the new version 0.9.9 but deactivated.
Can't be done.
There are several reasons for such an error. Please take
this problem to a mailing list, either gnupg-users@gnupg.org
or gpg4win-devel@wald.intevation.de.
Done in SVN revision 146
Turns out that this is a lot of work. we need to add an
extra code path to check for PGP/MIME mails does not try to
decrypt/verify anything. Will take a day or so.
A cursory look at the log file does not reveal any problems
obviously related to gpgol. You can help by creating a log
file for gpgol: Use the advanced options in the GnuPG
options dialog and enter a name for a debug file (e.g.:
"c:\temp\gpgol.log". Then rerun the test using test data
and send the file please to timo (twoaday at g10code dot com).
There is no way to fix this. It is an Outlook problem lasting for
years now. We try to delete the content of the mail in such a case
but it is not reliable either.
gpgol 0.9.0 is way to old. We fixed a lot of bugs in the meantime and would like you to test it again with ten gpgol as included in gpg4win. See www.gpg4win.org.
