It was decided that we don't want to improve this in KConfig.

Tested a little late and on Windows 11 with VS-Desktop-3.3.90.16-Beta (a Beta for VSD 3.3.3):

We were testing different things. This instance of the move to folder issue is fixed, for variants we'll open new tickets with clear test cases.

The following workflow works for Markus and me:

The attachments in the original mail are not gone, yes.
But the mail can't be forwarded with them.

The test mail from before does not cause a spawn cycle and no high CPU load any more. (Tested without "show as text only", as it was not relevant before.)

After a discussion we decided to drop the idea to save the status of the check boxes even for only the box "encrypt for others".

Tested with VS-Desktop-3.3.90.8-Beta and the test gpgol.dll from 2025-09-10 and the same test mail from the original report:
The spawning cycle does not occur any more. (Tested with Outlook setting "show as text only" and without.)

I think it is save to say that we will not implement pgp/inline encryption with attachments
