needs to be fixed soon. But we don't have a tag for Gpg4win 5 or whatever we call a kf6 based gpg4win.

Instead of "The key hasn't changed." Kleopatra now displays "The update was skipped because no keyserver is configured."

with Version 3.2.2.231170+git~ (Gpg4win-4.3.1-beta12):
- no error message any more with keyserver = none
- correct error message when choosing "publish on server"
But in the case "Refresh OpenPGP keys" (in Kleopatras certificate Details) there is no error message but instead ~"the key is unchanged".
Version 3.2.2.231170+git~ (Gpg4win-4.3.1-beta12): works, when entering a mail address the search result is presented very fast now. When entering only a name, nothing happens. So functionality is there, the improvement in UX is T6493.

I have backported the commits to gpg4win/23.10 for VSD 3.2.
Keep in mind that the "Certificate Details" can also be shown for search results in the server lookup. In this case not all properties are available, e.g. there is no information about certifications, so that it might not make sense to show the certifications tab. Or we show the tab (so that the users don't wonder why it's missing), but display a message explaining that this information is not available before the certificate is imported.

I have backported the relevant commits to gpg4win/23.10 for VSD 3.2. I left out the commit that adds a tooltip.

As part of this change the possibility to "Learn NetKey v3 Card Certificates" via the system tray icon has been removed.

I think we should separate this into two tasks:
For better action names see T6420: Kleopatra: improve layout of and text in smartcard management view.
Feb 26 2024
For VSD there should at least no info message be shown - which has to be clicked away - when keyserver is set to "None"
While we see issues with gpg-agent not starting in different circumstances (like with the empty keylist) I would like to keep this task here about the smart card tab.

This is just another sympton with the same root cause. Therefore I have closed this as duplicate.
Interesting. I didn't even know that this feature exists.

@jmrexach I think I undestand now @TobiasFella can you have a look please?
Hi,
To reproduce this just change an item in the filter list: The contents of the window changes but NOT the name (title) of the window (only in the leftmost tab).
Yes we could add that. Okular has this actually. For now we were Happy to go with the system default in the last version :)
I cannot reproduce this. If I right click the tab I can rename it just like every other tab. The tabs do not change their names based on the current filter that is used that is only their default name. And the default for the first Tab is "All Certificates"
Yes, basically these actions check if the underlying document is there and if not they make themself invisible. But then they should not be in the menu in the first place. But I believe the impact of this is rather low.
This seems to depend on the Platform theme. Under Windows I get the same results as you on linux It works fine with me
since we are currently in the process of upgrading our UI Framework we will need to recheck this. To avoid too many duplicates in the tracker I will merge this ticket into our general "revisit dark mode" task T6076: Kleopatra: Many icons are hard to see if the dark high-contrast mode is activatedFeb 19 2024
I need to come up with a better strategy here. --refresh-keys is a very useful command and it should do what the user expects. Maybe we can adjust the behaviour iff we detect that there is an LDAP keyserver.
Mh, the problem is that this is really a speciality feature which KMail currently has, that you can configure for a contact to prefer S/MIME over OpenPGP even though you have both keys.
I'm not sure how to approach this.

Moving back to WiP and setting status to Testing. Moving to QA shall be done when an installer to test this is available. See https://dev.gnupg.org/w/gpgcom/

Seems to be a small problem with the regex used for extracting the gpg4win version number from kleopatra's version number. See https://invent.kde.org/pim/kleopatra/-/merge_requests/117/ for fix and details.
My suggestion is to define all filters in libkleopatrarc instead of defining some filters in the C++ code.
Isn't the kleopatragroupsrc just such a config file?
Quick hint how to test a fix given that the versions.gnupg.org currently does not carry an entry for gpg4win.
These actions/commands or, more precisely, the documents those commands show, are only available in the commercial GnuPG VS Desktop release.
Ingo came up with the idea to put all the filter definitions in a config file in the GNUPGHOME.
